Using Your Fear as a Compass

by | Dec 2, 2017 | Entrepreneurship

Are you a procrastinator?
Are you stuck in your business?
Are you scared to step outside your comfort zone?
Then you need to use your fear as your compass.

If you are at a point in your business where nothing is happening and you are feeling stuck, then listen up. No doubt you are feeling a lot of resistance to do the things you should be doing. I read a great book about resistance called ‘The War of Art’ by Steven Pressfield. He talks a lot about fear in this book. Fear is a form of resistance. It makes you stay in your comfort zone. This is a place where nothing happens. You are not going to go anywhere. You have to push past that fear and those boundaries to really grow and excel in what you are doing. I bet your fear has made you miss some amazing opportunities in your life. Don’t let that be the rest of your life.

Highly successful people deal with fear every single day. The difference is, they know if they use that fear as their compass for what they need to do next, then they will have success. This is the key to evolving and growing in your life. If you had told me a year ago, I would be doing live videos and creating my own brand, I never would have believed you! What you need to realise is FEAR = BREAKTHROUGHS. Now, I know that if I’m fearing something, eg doing a presentation, approaching a successful person about my business, then I know I need to do it. You can do it too! I PROMISE you it will help you! Feel the fear and do it anyway.

Doing Facebook live videos has completely changed my business. I was TERRIFIED to do my first one but I knew I had to step outside my comfort zone if I wanted to make a change. Now, I do them nearly every day and don’t think twice about pressing ‘GO LIVE’. If you want to engage with your audience then it’s the way to go! I love my followers and the engagement and interaction I can have with them. It’s also a great way for people to get to know me and ultimately trust me! Here is a ‘behind the scenes’ picture of my set up. If I can do it in my home with my three kids hanging off me, so can you! You’ve just got to plough on sometimes! 😂😂😂
